Uploaded this video to YouTube for entry in “The Movement Minneapolis Grip Decathlon“. Check it out for some of the crazy things I try! (And in a couple of cases, embarassingly fail!)

I must admit, I was tempted not to upload this. The failures included were embarrassing and the fact that the camera made me sound like I have a terrible lisp (I don’t) made it easy to choose not to upload it.
Luckily, I made the choice to tell Adam that I was going to do it, so the accountability forced me to put it up.
Now I’m glad I did. It shows an honest view of what I can do right now, how much room I have to improve and will be evidence that I have, when I have.

Just as an aside as well, after failing on the double Bottoms Up Press, I then managed to hit a successful single with the 24kg on my right side, which was a big intensity PR as I have never achieved it before. Shame the camera was off! ;-)

  1. Enjoyed the video Piers! I’ve been training grip for 11 years and stalled out for a while. But now thanks to Grip and Rip and Gym Movement I’m making solid gains again.

    • Thanks very much, Ben! It’s great to receive from feedback from a grip sport veteran. Obviously my love for grip is very much in its infancy, but making steady progress makes it much more fun, doesn’t it?
